Komunikasi Merentas Sempadan Kerja Melalui Teknologi dan Media Sosial: Kesan Terhadap Peningkatan Konflik Kerja-Keluarga

Abstrak

Penggunaan Teknologi Maklumat dan Komunikasi (ICT) untuk menyampaikan maklumat berkaitan kerja selepas waktu kerja biasa telah menjadi lazim pada masa kini. Capaian kepada pekerja telah melangkaui sempadan masa bekerja kerana maklumat berkaitan kerja boleh disampaikan di luar waktu kerja melalui medium telekomunikasi canggih seperti telefon mudah alih yang dilengkapi capaian terhadap e-mel dan juga media sosial. Keadaan ini dijangka meningkatkan tekanan kerja kepada pekerja dan sekali gus meningkatkan konflik kerja-keluarga. Adakah dakwaan ini benar? Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk menyiasat implikasi ICT dan media sosial terhadap konflik kerja-keluarga serta mencadangkan beberapa mekanisme untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini. Kajian ini berbentuk kualitatif, dengan menggunakan kaedah temubual bagi mengumpul data daripada sampel yang terdiri daripada pekerja daripada pelbagai latar belakang. Hasil kajian mendapati pendedahan terhadap penggunaan ICT dan media sosial di luar waktu kerja akan meningkatkan konflik kerja-keluarga. Walau bagaimanapun , kajian mendapati kesan tersebut boleh dikurangkan dengan adanya sokongan dan kefahamana daripada penyelia serta disiplin dan kebijaksaan individu atau pengguna itu sendiri dalam meletakkan prioriti terhadap sebarang maklumat yang sampai kepada mereka melalui teknologi terkini dan media sosial tersebut.
