Cued Speech English (CLC) is one of the communication methods used in the hearing impaired. Speech cues are visual communication modes that demonstrated by the shape of the hands and positions and the movement of the lips where each syllable is spoken and clearly identified through sight and hearing. This study aims to develop the software specifically for Malay Cued Speech Language courses for deaf children using the design model of accessibility. The objective of the study is to develop a prototype of the interactive multimedia for children with hearing loss and implement accessibility design models. The study methodology is based on the instructional design model, generic design and user-centric design inclusive of the analysis phase,design and development phase and evaluation phase. Software accessibility design model contains four important elements, namely visual information (animation / graphics),text or subtitles (captions), interactivity and sound (supporting elements) and support factors such as appropriate curriculum, family support and children's physical needs.
Abstrak
Pertuturan Kiu Bahasa Melayu (PKBM) merupakan salah satu kaedah komunikasi yang diguna dalam kalangan OKU pendengaran. Pertuturan Kiu adalah komunikasi mod visual yang mengguna bentuk tangan dan posisi tertentu serta pergerakan bibir di mana setiap suku kata yang ditutur boleh dicam dengan jelas melalui penglihatan dan pendengaran. Kajian ini bertujuan membangun perisian kursus pertuturan Kiu Bahasa Melayu untuk kanak-kanak OKU pendengaran mengguna model reka bentuk ketercapaian. Objektif kajian adalah untuk membangun prototaip perisian kursus multimedia interaktif untuk kanak-kanak OKU pendengaran dan mengimplementasi model reka bentuk ketercapaian perisian kursus. Metodologi kajian adalah berasaskan model reka bentuk berarahan, reka bentuk sejagat dan reka bentuk berpusat pengguna yang merangkumi fasa analisis, fasa reka bentuk dan pembangunan serta fasa penilaian. Model reka bentuk ketercapaian perisian kursus mengandungi empat elemen penting iaitu maklumat dalam bentuk visual (animasi / grafik), teks atau sari kata (captions), interaktiviti dan bunyi (elemen sokongan) serta faktor-faktor sokongan seperti kurikulum yang sesuai, sokongan keluarga serta keperluan fizikal kanak-kanak.
