Abstract

Knowledge management is one of the important factors for the success of an organization. The state of Selangor as the first developed state in Malaysia since 2005 is often referred as a benchmark for other states including the implementation of information technology (IT). This study was conducted to answer questions related to the implementation of knowledge management technology and technology related problems in the statutory body of the Selangor State Government. For this purpose, a quantitative study using a questionnaire was conducted on 236 respondents from 10 statutory bodies in Selangor. The study has shown that information technology technology is a part of the instrument utilised to assist the governance within the statutory body of the Selangor state government. In general the study has also proven that no problem can be attributed to the use of information technology on knowledge management within the statutory body of the Selangor state government.

Pengurusan pengetahuan merupakan salah satu perkara penting kepada kejayaan sesebuah organisasi. Negeri Selangor yang merupakan sebuah negeri maju yang pertama di Malaysia mulai tahun 2005 sering dijadikan penanda aras kepada negeri lain termasuk berkaitan implementasi teknologi maklumat (TM). Kajian ini dijalankan bagi menjawab persoalan berkaitan pelaksanaan teknologi pengurusan pengetahuan dan masalah berkaitan teknologi ini di badan berkanun kerajaan Negeri Selangor. Bagi tujuan ini, satu kajian kuantitatif menggunakan kaedah soal selidik dijalankan terhadap 236 responden dari 10 badan berkanun di negeri Selangor. Kajian yang dijalankan menunjukkan bahawa teknologi teknologi maklumat menjadi sebahagian instrumen yang digunakan bagi membantu urus tadbir dalam badan berkanun kerajaan negeri Selangor. Kajian juga membuktikan bahawa secara umumnya, tiada masalah yang dapat dikaitkan dengan penggunaan teknologi maklumat terhadap pengurusan pengetahuan dalam badan berkanun kerajaan negeri Selangor.
