Factors Influencing New Converts in Seeking Islamic Information on Social Media: A Preliminary Study

Media sosial digunakan secara meluas oleh masyarakat untuk pelbagai tujuan dalam kehidupan seharian. Ia turut berperanan sebagai salah satu sumber maklumat penting termasuk dalam hal-hal keagamaan. Bagi golongan saudara baharu, media sosial menjadi antara medium utama digunakan dalam pencarian maklumat berkaitan Islam. Kajian ini dijalankan bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti -faktor- faktor yang mempengaruhi pencarian maklumat Islam di media sosial dalam kalangan saudara baharu. Kajian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif di mana satu set borang soal selidik telah diedarkan kepada responden secara bersemuka dan juga secara dalam talian. Seramai 30 orang saudara baharu yang terlibat dalam kajian ini dipilih secara pensampelan bertujuan di sekitar Lembah Klang. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan perisian Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) melalui data deskriptif. Kajian ini menumpukan kepada faktor-faktor seperti teknologi, maklumat, matlamat, situasi, ciri pencari maklumat dan juga peranan pendakwah dalam mempengaruhi kecenderungan saudara baharu menggunakan media sosial untuk mencari maklumat berkaitan Islam. Dapatan analisis deskriptif menunjukkan empat faktor utama yang paling dominan iaitu faktor teknologi (min=5.79), ciri pencari maklumat (min=5.62), peranan pendakwah (mim=5.58) dan matlamat (min=5.44). Ini membuktikan bahawa kemudahan teknologi, keupayaan pencari maklumat, kredibiliti pendakwah dan motivasi dalaman merupakan faktor terpenting dalam menggalakkan aktiviti pencarian maklumat Islam melalui media sosial dalam kalangan saudara baharu. Secara keseluruhan, hasil kajian memberikan suatu gambaran empirikal yang jelas tentang keutamaan maklumat Islam dalam kalangan saudara baharu. Diharapkan hasil kajian ini dapat menjadi rujukan kepada institusi agama, pendakwah serta pembuat dasar merangka strategi komunikasi dakwah yang lebih relevan, inklusif dan efektif.
