Waqf is one of the most important economic instruments in Islam. Various aspects related to the waqf field have been studied and debated by scholars such as studies related to socio-politics, economics, accounting and waqf management, business models for land waqf, information needs studies as well as studies related to the development of waqf information management systems. This paper is produced from literature analysis by collecting qualitative data to analyze issues related to waqf information management in Malaysia. The analysis found that some gaps can be linked to the management of waqf information in state waqf agencies in Malaysia. The findings of the study show that among the existing gaps are related to the difficulty of distributing waqf benefits due to incomplete file information, the transparency of waqf documentation, the absence of detailed information about waqf assets and the need to provide sufficient information to waqf and those who have the potential to be waqf. The discovery of the problem above proves the need for an integrated information management system to be developed so that waqf information can be well managed.
